Educator Resources
No matter what career they choose, today's high school students will need a global
education. To meet this challenge, educators are finding that international exchange
sparks student interest in international study, brings current events to life, and
encourages foreign language study.
The YFU USA web site contains a wealth of information about international exchange and,
more specifically, YFU programs available to American students and their families. Whether you have
students already interested in a global adventure or hope to spark interest in your class for study abroad
programs, this site will provide the answers, encouragement, and opportunities to make an exchange summer,
semester, or year a reality. The section for American Students includes all the details,
applications, country and scholarship information needed to begin the journey towards a successful YFU
exchange for your students.

"Schools and communities must address the need for
international learning opportunities as an integral part of the educational experience. We must prepare young people today to successfully confront the challenge of continual
change."
- Douglas W. Chappell, Former Principal,
Dansville High School, Dansville, NY |
International students studying at your school are an added benefit of
exchange. These students bring other cultures right into your classroom and community.
They help you and those around you learn about other people, places, and perspectives. Learn more about
our programs for international students in the US by visiting Host Families and Come to the USA.
To learn more about the value and importance of international exchange, visit Global
Education. A number of YFU publications are available to download and/or request by mail from our Free
Info page.
If you would like to speak to a YFU representative about scheduling a speaker to discuss
international exchange opportunities with your class, please call toll-free 1-866-4-YFU-USA.
We hope that you will spread the word about international exchange and this web site to
your students. Help them gain the skills and insights that will prepare them to be world
players!
