The YFU-USA Alumni Association is looking for volunteer leadership in local areas to encourage alumni to work with each other and other YFU volunteers.

Alumni Coordinators at our August 2002 meeting

Initially tasks would most likely include the following:

  • Finding out which alumni are in your area and communicating with them (most alumni in the US participated in the American Overseas or "AO" program).
  • Planning and conducting regular get-togethers for your group.
  • Identifying ways in which members of your group would like to volunteer for YFU and making those things happen.
  • Serving as a channel of communication between alumni and YFU, developing partnerships with other YFU volunteers, and undertaking activities such as student recruitment and support.
  • Organizing the Homecoming Orientation for recently returned alumni.
  • Ultimately, you could have an active group of volunteers that are involved in a wide variety of volunteer and social activities. Check out the Activities page to see what's going on, or look at the Event Ideas section for other things to do in your area.

Resources to assist in your role as an Alumni Coordinator (AC) include:

  • An Alumni Coordinator Manual
  • Annual Alumni Coordinator Conference
  • Alumni Coordinator email group that includes all ACs nationwide
  • For new ACs, an experienced mentor by email and phone

We welcome your interest and hope that you will join the growing number of alumni involved in activities across the USA. Contact the NAC at alumni@yfu.org for more information on becoming an Alumni Coordinator!
