Do you remember?

  • The lodge near Hønefoss where we were suppose to learn Norwegian but learned a lot about each other instead?
  • Being incredibly tired, so tired that you ached because you were trying so hard to understand the language?
  • Realizing you understood what was said, without translating it in your head?
  • Your first dream in Norwegian?
  • Learning to drink (and like) coffee?
  • Lutefisk and Julecake?
  • The train to Bergen?
  • The sadness you felt as you flew home, and the excitement of returning all mixed together?

These are just some of the fond memories I have! I am Sarah Cofer but I was Sarah Williver then. I was spoiled-rotten American student who thought she knew it all. Norway taught me so many things about myself and about others! I remember the good things, the hard things, and the life changing things about my trip to Norway. I remember vowing to never loose contact, but have with many of my fellow YFU-ers. I am volunteering to be the class contact because I care what is happening in the lives of each of us.

I am trying to put together a reunion of sorts (that would be twenty years, folks)in the summer of 2005. Let me know if you are interested, or want to help, or have any ideas!

Please contact me at cofers@bendnet.com to share what your experience has meant to you, or what you are doing now!
