What We've Done!
The
YFU E-mail Discussion Group
now contains 250 members and is growing every day! Selected postings
have been forwarded on to Ambassador Sally Grooms Cowal, Peter Engebretson
and members of the Board of Trustees. The discussion group has been
instrumental in increasing communication and bringing all members of
the organization together.
The
YFU Internship process
has been streamlined. There are tons of YFU internship opportunities:
regionally, nationally and internationally! Internship descriptions
and tips on applying are available through the YFU-USA Alumni Association
website.
The
YFU-USA Alumni Association Brochure has been created and will be ready
for distribution this summer.
Funding
for American Overseas (AO) Re-Entries will now be available for anyone
coordinating an AO Re-Entry this fall. Each Region's NAC
Regional Facilitator can be a resource for the Regional Office staff,
volunteers and Alumni Coordinators planning to develop their alumni.
The
Alumni Referral List has
153 participants and there are plans to expand the list much further
next year, via the website.
NAC members continue to network and increase their involvement
with other YFU constituencies. Currently there are NAC members on the
Board Of Trustees, the National Volunteer Leadership Council and the
Volunteer Development Task Force.

New Alumni Coordinator Manuals were distributed to all regions in January
1999. They are available for all interested Alumni Coordinators.
And We're Not Stopping
There!
American
Overseas Pre-Departure materials are being collected across the nation
and a rewrite of the materials is planned for the future in collaboration
with YFU national office staff. For more information, contact Lisa
Chinnery or Jan Burwell
An Alumni Coordinator Resource List is being created. The list will
be a collection of experienced alumni, volunteers and staff who are
willing to provide guidance and share their expertise on a variety of
subjects with alumni coordinators and other volunteers. For more information,
contact David Barber.
A YFU Alumni Contact Network is being established to help fundraising
efforts as well as to connect YFU Alumni with each other and YFU. For
more information, contact Craig Jarvinen.
