YFU Alumni Chat:

The topic for this month's YFU Alumni chat is how to stay involved with YFU through college. Please join us! It is scheduled for September 23, 1999 at 9 PM EST.

We have information available if you've never done a chat before, and a link right to the YFU chat room.

YFU Alumni Presentations:

Another way to get involved with YFU is to do a presentation about exchange and give materials about YFU to your classmates. For more information contact your Regional Office Outreach Coordinator at 1-866-4-YFUUSA.

Tell Your Story to the Nation!

We are looking for Thanksgiving stories for the Alumni Link. If you have a story you want to share about why you are thankful for your exchange contact Julia Martin or (212) 614-1242.

Alumni Profiles

YFU alumni are on the move! This past month an alumnus from Texas was appointed to the open NAC position and another joined the International Center Staff!

National Alumni Council:

Susan Cook has been appointed to the National Alumni Council! Susan is a YFU alumna who went to Denmark in 1980-81. She currently lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where she acts as a sub-field manager. Susan has volunteered with YFU for five years now and has done almost everything there is to do as a YFU volunteer. She has placed international students, acted as a host mom herself, recruited new volunteers, done AO interviews, helped out at IS, HF and AO orientations and was even chosen as a flight leader for a group of German students last year. She has been an alumni advocate and is now looking to expand her involvement with alumni by working as a member of the NAC.

International Center:

New Associate Director of Development: Sarah Beth Lardie. She is a YFU alumna and won the Mazda scholarship to Japan in 1987. Sarah joins YFU from Community Development Associates, a fundraising consulting firm that serves non-profit clients. During her 3-year stay there, she developed an arsenal of fundraising experience, including annual fund and endowment campaigns and major donor work.
