A YFU Family

I'd like to see American Overseas Program alumni plugged into a warm and receptive Youth For Understanding organization once they return home. I'd love to be able to have Youth For Understanding "follow" alumni wherever they go after their return home. We have capable alumni living in a lot of different countries and the countries aren't always their countries of origin.

I'd love to see alumni find an instant "family" of friends upon arrival home to help cushion the shock of their return. I will personally testify to the enthusiasm, professionalism and usefulness of alumni---we have a lot of them that are helping to make the Omaha area better run, more caring and even more efficient.

An Active Role

YFU will be taking an active role in recruiting, training and utilizing our alumni. It has become more and more challenging to find students to go overseas, locate new host families and inform people about the mission of our organization. YFU will use their resources to the fullest extent possible, which means tapping into the vast number of alumni who have the experience of being overseas. These alumni have first-hand knowledge of the importance of foreign exchange and will be able to spread this knowledge throughout their communities.
