Eligibility
Up to five full summer scholarships for dependents of employees of C. R. Bard, Inc. US, Canadian, and Puerto Rican employees eligible. Parent of applicant must have been employed by C. R. Bard for at least one year prior to the application deadline and must also be employed with C. R. Bard at the time the students are notified of award. Non-US citizens may apply. Previous recipients are not eligible. Applicants to Japan must have a birth date that falls between April 2, 1991 and April 1, 1994.

Applicant's birth date must fall between
September 1, 1990, and June 15, 1994.

Application fee to be paid by the sponsor.

- 1 Educator Evaluation Form
- Host Family Letter
- 5 Responses to Short Answer Essay Questions
Scholarship Covers:
- Round-trip international travel
- Round-trip domestic travel
- Placement with a carefully selected host family
- Regional orientation for scholarship recipients and parents
- Preparatory materials
- Support services in host country
- Three-day Japan specific orientation at the beginning of the program (if going to Japan)
Scholarship Recipients are Responsible for:
- Passport
- Visa fees (if necessary)
- Any excess luggage tariffs
- Required overseas medical insurance (many insurance policies will cover students while traveling abroad)
- Personal spending money
- Upon returning home, scholarship winners are expected to complete at least one presentation in their school or community to share their experiences, teach others about the culture in their host country, and encourage other students to participate in foreign exchange.

All applicants will be notified by mail of their status in April.

travel on the YFU group travel dates, and to complete the entire program. For
