Eligibility

Three $2700 scholarships. Students will be responsible for paying the remainder of the program tuition. Students will be expected to make a brief speech as a goodwill ambassador of the US. Students must hold a 2.0 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale. Only US citizens may apply. Previous recipients of a YFU scholarship to Japan may not apply.

Age Requirements

Applicant's birth date must fall between April 2, 1991, and April 1, 1994.

Financial need may be evaluated when awarding this scholarship. Please check the appropriate box on the Payment page of the American Overseas application if you would like your financial situation to be considered as a factor when selecting the recipients of this scholarship.

All applicants will be notified by mail of their status in April.
