Eligibility
Scholarship covers a maximum contribution of $2,000 to the total program tuition. (Tuition information can be found on the YFU USA website at www.yfu-usa.org). Students must be an alumnus/alumna of a Presidential Classroom program. Students must hold a 2.0 for summer programs and a 3.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale for year and semester programs. Applicant must be a US citizen. Previous recipients of a YFU scholarship are not eligible.
Age Requirements
Applicant's birth date must fall between
September 1, 1989, and July 15, 1993.

- Host Family Letter
- 5 Responses to Short Answer Essay Questions

Scholarship Covers:
- Round-trip international travel
- Round-trip domestic travel
- Placement with a carefully selected host family
- Regional orientation for scholarship recipients and parents
- Preparatory materials
- Support services in host country
Scholarship Recipients are Responsible for:
- Passport
- Visa fees (if necessary)
- Any excess luggage tariffs
- Required overseas medical insurance (many insurance policies will cover students while traveling abroad)
- Personal spending money
- Upon returning home, scholarship winners are expected to complete at least one presentation in their school or community to share their experiences, teach others about the culture in their host country, and encourage other students to participate in foreign exchange.
- Tuition balance not covered by scholarship, due two weeks after award notification
NOTE:
Financial need may be evaluated when awarding this scholarship.

considered as a factor when selecting the recipients of this scholarship.
NOTE:
All applicants will be notified by mail of their status in April.

APPLICATION MATERIALS FOR YOUR REFERENCE.

name and code on your application. All scholarship recipients are required to
travel on the YFU group travel dates, and to complete the entire program. For
