YFU Supports You Every Step of the Way

YFU takes seriously our mission of preparing young people for their responsibilities and opportunities in a changing, interdependent world. And we take just as seriously our commitment to prepare and support our host families. With a national office in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and five districts across the country, YFU USA has a dedicated, caring team of staff and volunteers to support you and your student. The most important member of our team is the local volunteer - your personal contact and most valuable resource.

Right from the start, your local volunteer representative will be there to answer questions and help you select the exchange son or daughter that best fits your family. Throughout the exchange, your volunteer will be in touch with you and your student at least once a month to ensure things are going well and help you with any challenges you may be facing.

Volunteers are trained to help you and your student successfully navigate cross-cultural adjustments and challenges. If problems arise and your volunteer cannot help, he or she will bring in other resources to help. Trained, professional staff are available to assist you and your family 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
