How to Apply

Youth For Understanding volunteers are vital to the success of YFU programs around the world. If you have decided to join our global family of volunteers, there are three ways to get started:

• Method 1: Call Toll-Free 1-866-4-YFU-USA (1-866-493-8872) if you would like to speak to a YFU representative immediately.

• Method 2: Submit your application online by going to the Volunteer Online Application. Once your application has been submitted, you can expect to be contacted by a local volunteer or staff person.

• Method 3:  Download the Volunteer Application to Your Computer
  

  You can download the application, fill it out, and return it by mail or fax. To do this, you'll need to use Adobe's Acrobat Reader software. Get it free by clicking on the Get Acrobat Reader box. Then come back to this page.

  If you already have the Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, you can open the US Volunteer Application now.

  When you've completed the application, mail it to YFU USA, Registration Office, 6400 Goldsboro Road, Suite 100, Bethesda, MD 20817. Or you can fax your application to 240-235-2104. You may also return the completed application to your Area Coordinator or Field Director.

Each method will result in a local volunteer or staff representative calling you to schedule an interview with you.
